i can't wait to be back. as bad as it may sound, i feel more at home there than i ever have. as clichè as it may sound, i really feel like i belong. and this isn't to say i've fallen prey to the idealistic notion that reed is some sort of utopian vision of freedom, intellectualism, and compassion. it has it's flaws...some glaring, some hidden. it's just that, for some reason, that imperfect community of intelligent discourse and indie music snobbery and impromptu dance parties on the quad and fire dancing in the windy 30 degree night outside the paradox and tripping on acid and developing lifelong friendships and dreaming (and dreaming, and dreaming) just fucking makes me happier than i've ever been. and so, i think it's pretty clear why i'm so stoked to be back there. hopefully, i'll be able to use some of the things i've learned over the past half year (and the past week or so) to make myself and the people around me as happy as possible. garrrrrrrrrr, now to survive these next couple of days. motherfuckme!

so i'm back. back, that is, to the boredom and frustration that is alabama. it was an extremely enjoyable week in naples. thank you, gaby, daryl, layne, and joe for making it amazing. so yes, only 6 days until i'm back at reed again. i can't fucking wait to see everyone again and finally be out of the parental prison camp that is huntsville.
